The pool includes a diving well with diving board and spiral slide. to reflect the wider membership of the pool including many new subdivisions in the area. In 19 the association changed its name to Canterbury Recreation Association, Inc.

In the summer of 1975, the pool and tennis facilities opened for use. These charter members borrowed $82,500 from a local bank and built the pool and tennis courts. This group of individuals brought together 175 families willing to invest $350 each to build a pool and tennis recreation center on approximately 25 acres adjacent to the wetlands of Tuckahoe Creek. In 1974, Canterbury Association and Greater Canterbury Association consolidated to form Canterbury Area Association for the primary purpose of providing recreation facilities for area residents.
